  7. Tailor for Mac OS can be used in conjunction with OPEN, the Luminous workflow solution, to automatically clean up and streamline PostScript files in batch.

  9. PostScript files processed by Tailor :
  10.     • contain conforming DSC 3.0 comments
  11.        => trapping or impositioning solutions need these comments to operate correctly
  12.     • contain clean, streamlined PostScript
  13.       => in many cases, trapping time is substantially reduced

  15. Files in this "Tailor 2.0.8 OPEN-aware" kit
  16.  
  17. The distribution kit contains two folders: 'With embedded script' and 'With external script'. 
  18. To install Tailor as OPEN-aware application, use the 'With embedded scripts' folder and refer to the section 'Installing the Tailor OPEN-aware kit'. To modify the behaviour of Tailor in the OPEN pipeline (using AppleScript), use the files in the 'With external script' folder and refer to the section 'Adjusting Tailor's OPEN-aware AppleScript'.

  22. To install Tailor as an OPEN-aware application do the following:

  24.     • Install Tailor for Mac OS
  25.     • Locate and open the folder where you installed the OPEN application on your hard disk
  26.     • Copy the "Tailor.OPN" file from the "With embedded scripts" folder into the "OPEN
  27.     Configuration Files" folder
  28.     • Open your OPEN application and target the Tailor application on your hard disk

  30. The Tailor icon is now available as pipeline item.

  32. Adjusting Tailor's OPEN-aware AppleScript
  33.  
  34. To adjust the AppleScript that makes Tailor OPEN-aware, perform the following steps:
  35.     • Modify the "Rewrite PS.script" AppleScript in the "With external script" folder
  36.     • Compile the script and save it as compiled script from the script editor.
  37.     • Locate and open the folder where you installed the OPEN application on your hard disk 
  38.     • Locate and open the "OPEN Application Scripts" folder inside the OPEN folder
  39.     • If needed, create a folder named "Tailor" in this folder and copy the compiled script
  40.     into this "Tailor" folder.
  41.     • Copy the "Tailor.OPN" file from the "With external script" folder into the "OPEN
  42.     Configuration Files" folder
  43.     • Open your OPEN application and target the Tailor application on your hard disk
